Meet the Board Members
Tameria Cox
Tameria Cox serves as the Assistant Dean of Faculty for Chamberlain University MSN Online Program. She also
maintains clinical practice for Ascension Health. Dr. Cox has practiced in adult health medical-surgical area. She
also has worked in clinical documentation, which helps with proper hospital reimbursement based upon physician
diagnosis. Dr. Cox has an earned doctorate degree from the University of Southern Indiana. She is certified as a
medical surgical registered nurse, nurse educator, and clinical documentation specialist. Dr. Cox has taught in both
the undergraduate and graduate level nursing programs teaching such courses such as theory, ethics in nursing
practice, leadership, and community health nursing. Dr. Cox served has served as a Coordinator for a DEI initiative,
and currently services on the DEI committee for the Metropolitan of Pike Township. Through this work, Dr. Cox
works with those in the community at all levels to help cultivate a healthy academic environment for school aged
children. Her efforts is focused on shaping the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of others to help address/ enhance
diversity, equity, and inclusion related efforts. Tameria is married to her spouse, Jason for twenty years.
Together, they have two children: Evan and Mia, and a furbaby: Bella.
Ashley Parrish
Ashley Parrish works in the Healthcare Distribution
Industry. She is a Customer Engagement Consultant for
Cardinal Health and has been with the company for 15.5
years. She currently serves as the Event Manager on the
steering board for the company Employee Activities
Committee. In addition, is involved with multiple
employee resource groups. She enjoys volunteering at
the local food bank in her spare time. Ashley has
volunteered with multiple events that support Columbus
Diaper Bank, Ronald McDonald House, American Heart
Association, Inc. & Pelotonia.
Ashley loves to travel. She is a huge New
Orleans Saints fan. She enjoys traveling to football
games with her dad. In her spare time, she likes going to
spin class. Taco Tuesday is her favorite day of the week.
LaKeesha Burton
LaKeesha Burton currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Chancey Elementary for the largest school district in the state, Jefferson County Public School. She has previously served as a classroom teacher and an Academic Instructional Coach for her current district. Mrs. Burton has devoted 18 years to positively impacting public education. She leads with passion, energy, and innovation. Her equity-centered mindset and collaborative approach have helped students in her community reach their highest social, emotional, and academic success. Mrs. Burton earned a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Louisville, a MAT in Elementary Education from Spalding University, and a Rank 1 in Educational Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. Mrs. Burton has dedicated her life to making public education accessible for all kids. She is a servant leader and is excited to serve her community in various capacities.
